Composting is one of the best ways we can give back to the earth. Instead of just reducing waste, it allows us to use what we normally throw away to enrich our gardens. That’s why, to celebrate Earth Day, we’re launching our Frame It All™ modular Composter. This eco-friendly product is easy to assemble and use, so you can start composting right away!
Why compost?
Composting is a boon to gardeners because it creates the nutrient-rich soil that flower and vegetable gardens crave. Remember, good soil makes good plants! It’s also great for the earth—saving our natural resources, allowing us to recycle on the most basic level, and diverting garden debris that might normally clog up a landfill to this useful purpose. Those are the main benefits of composting.
How to assemble a composter
Our Frame It All products offer an easy, economical way to build your own compost bin. You can even attach it to your Frame It All raised bed garden and scoop your compost right onto the plant beds. Our easy-to-assemble 4 x 4 composter allows good air flow so the compost can work its magic—and it takes about 10 minutes to build! What can be composted?
1) Yard waste: grass clippings, plant and shrubbery trimmings
2) Food scraps: eggshells, rinds, coffee grounds, shells, pits and seeds, bread crusts (don’t eat that last bite off your child’s plate—your garden can use it!)
3) Paper products: tissues, napkins, brown paper bags
4) Pet trash: shavings from the guinea pigs cage, old plants from the fish tank (as well as former fish tank inhabitants who have “gone back to the sea”)
These are just a few things you can compost, here’s a more comprehensive list.
